About me

Welcome, I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m Vansika, originally from India and now based in Berlin. I am a certified Reiki practitioner in the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage. My background includes training in the Western lineage originating with Hawayo Takata. Additionally, I studied the traditional Japanese system of Jikiden Reiki® under Silke Kleemann, whose lineage flows from Mikao Usui > Chujiro Hayashi > Chiyoko Yamaguchi > Tadao Yamaguchi.

It has not been easy, but the journey has been worth it!

Before this work, I spent years working as a software engineer in a high-pressure environment shaped by constant thinking, problem-solving, and performance. Over time, that way of living pulled me deeply into the mind and away from the body. From the outside, life looked stable and successful. Internally, stress, pressure, and unresolved emotions were quietly accumulating.

This accumulation started much earlier. Growing up, my childhood environment was chaotic, leaving no space for me to express or experience my emotions. It reached a point where I could not even cry properly. As I grew older, carrying the weight of the world and absorbing the suffering of people around me took a heavy toll. With no healthy outlet, my emotions piled up like a dump. This survival mode began reflecting in my behaviour through a short temperament, irritability, and constant sadness, while also manifesting physically as chronic fatigue. I kept dragging myself forward, thinking this heavy way of living was completely normal, until I simply couldn't anymore.

At that point, nothing was working underneath the surface. My relationships were suffering, and I was carrying far more weight than I realised. Interestingly, during that period, Reiki kept appearing around me through conversations, recommendations, ads, and pamphlets, almost as if life kept pointing me toward it until I finally decided to experience it for myself.

I still remember my first Reiki session. It felt as if an impossible weight had been lifted from my body and mind, bringing an incredible lightness. I initially started receiving sessions every two weeks for several months. Before Reiki, I was hyper-aware of fitness and food, but this was entirely different. Reiki helped me feel the minute, subtle sensations within my body—a connection I had been totally absent from before. It helped me release the built-up emotional dump, regulate my nervous system, and experience a sense of physical well-being and steady calm I had not felt in a long time. It felt like coming home to myself.

What also made this path feel deeply familiar was the environment I grew up in. I was raised in India surrounded by prayers, blessings, rituals, and temple visits. Reiki did not feel foreign to me. In many ways, it felt like returning to something I had always known, but now with a deeper awareness and understanding. Over time, what began as personal healing became a lifelong work that I felt called to study deeply and share with others.

Why I offer Reiki

I offer Reiki because I know what it feels like to continue functioning on the outside while feeling disconnected and exhausted underneath.

Many people carry stress quietly while continuing to perform, achieve, and push through daily life. Reiki offers a different kind of support—a space to slow down, connect with the body's actual sensations, and restore physical and mental well-being. During my own healing journey, I met wonderful people who supported me, held space for me, and made me feel safe enough to reconnect with myself. Having gone through that experience personally, I feel a deep calling to offer that same space to others—a space where they can pause, soften, and feel supported without judgment or pressure.

What I believe

  • I believe healing is not only mental. The body and its subtle sensations must be included.

  • Self-awareness matters, but intellectual awareness alone is not enough. True well-being involves the body, the nervous system, and the willingness to meet our physical and emotional layers honestly.

  • When we learn to listen to the body instead of constantly overriding it, we begin to understand ourselves more clearly. That clarity shapes how we live, how we relate to others, and how we show up in the world.

Beyond this work

Beyond Reiki, I value creativity, movement, and self-expression. I enjoy painting, sports, modelling, and learning about human behaviour and the universe.

Books that made an impact on my life include The Body Keeps the Score and The Prophet.
